One operator. 25+ years of shipped systems.

Gulf Breeze Blockchain is a one-person consultancy. I'm Bill — an engineer, architect, and solutions lead who has spent more than twenty-five years building storage, embedded, and decentralized systems for everyone from Lockheed Martin to Protocol Labs. When you hire this firm, you get me end-to-end: discovery, architecture, implementation, and the difficult conversations.

Core Practices

Why I run this as a solo practice.

After 25+ years inside large engineering organizations — from embedded software at Lockheed Martin to enterprise storage at Western Digital and Cloudian, then decentralized infrastructure at Protocol Labs — I went out on my own to do the work the way it should be done: directly, without layers of handoff.

Gulf Breeze Blockchain is intentionally a single-operator firm. Every engagement is scoped, architected, and delivered by me. No bench warming, no junior swap-outs after the SOW is signed, no telephone game between a salesperson and the engineer doing the work.

I take a small number of engagements at a time so each client gets serious attention. If a project needs additional hands, I bring in trusted specialists I've worked with for years — and I stay accountable for the outcome.

What I hold to.

01

Cryptographic integrity

Security is not a checkbox. Every system I ship is reviewed, tested, and stress-fired before mainnet.

02

Type-safe by default

I choose languages and frameworks that catch errors at compile time, not in production.

03

Operator empathy

Architecture serves the people who run it at 3am. Observability and clean rollbacks are first-class.

04

Quiet competence

No hype, no hand-waving. I deliver, document, and stand behind the work.

25+ years shipping infrastructure at scale.

From embedded systems at Lockheed Martin to decentralized storage at Protocol Labs — a personal record of engineering teams led, deals closed, and systems shipped.
